20W-50, API SF/CC
20W-50, API SF/CC is a mineral motor oil used mainly for older, worn-out engines (often Soviet-made cars or classic cars manufactured before the 1980s).
It is designed for moderate to high ambient temperatures:
20W-50: High viscosity (thick oil), which provides stable pressure in the system of a heated engine, reduces oil consumption for fumes and protects parts with high mileage.
API SF/CC: Obsolete classification. SF means compatibility with gasoline engines (until 1988), and CC - for moderately boosted diesel engines (mostly atmospheric).
It is strictly not recommended to use this type of oil in modern (especially high-speed or turbocharged) engines due to their increased demands, thin oil channels and non-compliance with modern environmental standards.
Benefits of use:
✓ meets the requirements of most equipment manufacturers;
✓ good lubricating, detergent and anti-corrosion properties;
✓ helps protect against sludge formation at low temperatures and oxidation at high temperatures;
✓ compatibility with all engine seals;
✓ ideal price-quality ratio;
✓ detergent properties and acidity control help maintain reliability, prevent engine and bearing corrosion and reduce downtime;
✓ stable chemical composition of the oil throughout its service life;
✓ protection of parts from corrosion and other chemical influences;
✓ reliable protection against wear and polishing of cylinder walls ensures increased engine service life;
✓ prevents the formation of sludge and deposits on pistons;
✓ protects the engine and bearings from corrosion;
✓ prevents polishing of cylinder walls;
When choosing oil, be sure to pay attention to the operating manual for machinery and equipment, which clearly states the necessary oil parameters - viscosity, conditions of use and possible substitutes.
