Transmission oil 80W-90 (API GL-4)
80W-90 API GL-4 transmission oil is a mineral-based, all-season oil designed primarily for manual gearboxes (MT) and final drives operating under moderate to severe conditions. It is formulated using highly refined base oils. A unique additive package, combined with a high-quality base oil, ensures unrivalled anti-corrosion, anti-oxidant, anti-seize and thermal stability properties. It has excellent lubricating properties, high resistance to oxidation and high load-bearing capacity. It keeps transmission systems and mechanisms clean.
It protects synchronisers and gear trains, prevents corrosion of copper alloys, and is widely used in passenger cars, lorries and agricultural vehicles.
The oil contains a moderate amount of extreme-pressure (EP) additives, which is critical for gearboxes with synchronisers. It ensures stable performance across a wide temperature range (all-season). It possesses high resistance to oxidation and heavy loads
It is used in manual gearboxes, hypoid gears, drive axles and steering mechanisms where the manufacturer specifies the API GL-4 standard.
Note: Not recommended for use where API GL-5 is required (heavy-duty hypoid axles).
